Workshop “RISK ASSESSMENT OF ACCIDENT IN INLAND: UTILITY ‘AND FUNCTIONS OF RIS (River Information Services)”

The workshop will address the issue of safety in inland navigation through an analysis of the risks of accident, and an assessment of their reduction with the introduction of RIS (River Information Services). The meeting will be held Thursday, July 18, 2013 from 14.30 to 17.40 in Mantua, at the headquarters of the Province of Mantua in Via Don Maraglio 4 (Sala Chiaventi).
The workshop is organized within the RIS project “Development Studies operability of RIS in the waterway system of Northern Italy” that supports the improvement of the management capacity of the waterway system of Northern increasing levels of efficiency , security and integration in the supply chain. The project also includes the implementation of a pilot system of river information services along the channels, to test the feasibility and effectiveness of the system in terms of supporting the efficient management of the waterway.

Workshop “Workshop “The regulations, tools and mode ‘monitoring vessels in inland and coastal” – Wednesday’ May 8, 2013 – Authorities’ Port of Venice

The European project “Development Studies operability of RIS (River Information Services) in the waterway system of Northern Italy” intends to support the improvement of the management capacity of the waterway system of Northern increasing levels of efficiency, safety and integration in the supply chain through the implementation of organizational studies, technical and legal issues related to the establishment of a RIS. These
studies will be validated by putting in place a pilot system of river information services along the channels, to test the feasibility and effectiveness of the system in terms of supporting the efficient management of the waterway.The examination of the theme of the rules, tools and methods of monitoring vessels in inland and coastal offered by this workshop supports Activity 3 “Organization – Innovation Legal – feasibility plan. “The appointment is scheduled for Wednesday’ May 8, 2013 at 14.15 at The Authorities Port of Venice – Santa Marta – Building 13, Venice (Committee Room).

Venice Port Authority and VeMarS (Venice Maritime School) organized an international workshop on the state of the art and future perspectives of E- Navigation system.

During the workshop the project  TEN-T RIS was presented: it supports and improves the operativity of the Italian Waterway system, trough the financing of studies and the realization of a pilot system of River Information Service.

European project RIS “Studies for the development of the RIS operability along the Northern Italy waterway system” 2010-IT-70203-S

The European project “Studies for the development of the RIS operability along the Northern Italy waterway system” wants to support the improvement of the management capacity of the Italian waterway system, increasing its efficiency, security, and integration in the logistics chain levels, trough the realization of organizational, technical and juridical studies, for the realization of a RIS system. These studies will be validated trough a pilot system of river information system, in order to test the system feasibility and efficacy, in terms of support to the efficient waterway management.

The european experiences and best practices  exchange offered by that workshop supports the activity 3 “Organization- juridical innovation- feasibility plan”, and in particular the subactivity that analizes the organization of the management structure

Kick off meeting of the project “Studies for the Ris operability along the Northern Italy Waterway System”, Venice, 20th September 2011.

The kick off meeting of the project “Studies for the Ris operability along the Northern Italy Waterway System” was done in Venice, 20th September 2011, with the presence of the Regional Assessor for the transports, Renato Chisso, of the President of Sistemi Territoriali spa, Gian Michele Gambato, and of the Ten-T agency project manager, Koen Bois d’Enghien.

The project, during 46 months, is jointly financed by Italian Administration and by European Agency TEN-T EA- Trans European Transport Network Executive Agency, born in 2006 in order to implement and manage Ten-T program for the European Commission itself.

The objective of the activities is the improvement of the management of the northern Italy waterway system, trough organizational, technical and juridical studies.
Involved partners are: Sistemi Territoriali spa, Agenzia Interregionale per il Fiume Po, Provincia di Mantova, Autorità Portuale di Venezia, Ministero delle Infrastrutture e dei Trasporti and Venezia Logistics srl.

During the meeting, partners presented project activities: after a study phase of the architectural ris structure, there will be the practical part. In this one a prototype will be developed, and it will be validated also under a functional point of view.
